Flintec Implements Rooftop Solar System At Manufacturing Facility In Sri Lanka, Reinforcing Commitment To Sustainability

Flintec is proud to announce the successful installation of a state-of-the-art rooftop solar system at our manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka, covering an area of 12,150 square metres (approx. 140,000 square feet).

The installation spans three manufacturing buildings with an impressive array of 4,110 solar panels. Together, the system has the capacity to generate up to 2.4 megawatts of power and is projected to offset our annual energy consumption by 40%. We anticipate the system will reduce our CO2 emissions by 2.25 metric tonnes each year, the equivalent of planting over 100,000 trees annually.

To maximise efficiency and the environmental benefits, Flintec has established a partnership with the local electricity board, allowing us to export surplus electricity back to the local grid. This strategic collaboration not only reduces our reliance on domestically produced energy but also supplements domestic production with clean, renewable energy.

Our UK facility will benefit from a similar installation, which due to be operational during the summer of 2023.

The transition to solar power is a significant milestone that represents Flintec's commitment to a cleaner, sustainable, future.
